Halls of Fame, let's make them visible !

Within specialty technical groups and related organizations, awards are very treasured by those involved. We need to have society out there treasure them too. Unfortunately most of the award systems are not known by the general public, they have no visibility outside of the specialty group. Due to the ever increasing role of engineers, scientists, technologists and related organizations in the wealth creation process this must change. This is the reason for the further development of the Hall of Fame for Engineering, Science and Technology, HOFEST, on the Internet.

Most technical organization's segment for the Hall of Fame already exists, but it does not have that name, or any name. It is simply the collection of all the awards the organization has ever bestowed on its members and others, as well as all the related awards all members of the organization have ever received from anywhere else.

With the use of the Internet, we can finally bring these honors to full view, and bring well deserved recognition to our professions by waving one common flag, the Hall of Fame, as well as each individual organization's flag at the same time.

There are different levels of importance, which can be sorted out and categorized by each individual organization. Some of the awardees could be moved quickly to the US National and various World Levels of the Hall of Fame using evaluations by the individual organizations and nominations for appropriate levels.

There is no conflict in that many of the organizations awards have named medals associated with them; the Hall of Fame is a complimentary system which exists for the purpose of bringing wider recognition to the honors bestowed by specialty technical organizations.
